MFA THESIS WORK

These bodies of work are part of the Master of Fine Arts Thesis exhibition, In the Middle of This Nowhere, 2020.

In the Middle of This Nowhere is an exhibition exploring presence and absence in real and virtual spaces. It engages with tensions present in and between communication, self-hood and control. The project originates from my own recollections of the intensity of childhood sensory perception, the current possibility of continuous connection, and screens that absorb us.

My work attempts to slow down, encourage contemplation by making tangible artifacts by hand, questioning how we currently experience the world, and which is more real to us, physical experience or the observed spectacles mediated by a screen.
